I’m not gonna say I am an online shopping queen or anything…but I am pretty skilled at it. I truly feel like quarantine has brought me to my online shopping peak. Because I am a giver, I want to share all my online shopping knowledge with you so that you too can get all the wonderful things you want without paying full price for them! Happy Shopping!
Tip 1 – Shop Off Season
If you know you really need some new sweaters for fall or that your winter coat isn’t going to cut it another year, now is the time to shop for those things! I know it can be hard to plan purchases that far in advance sometimes, but you can get amazing deals if you shop out of season. Stores have huge sales to move old inventory out to make room for the newest season’s clothing. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. I try to get all my sweaters and winter gear in the summer if possible. Or vice versa, if you need a new swimsuit, fall is the best time to grab one!
Tip 2 – Put it in your virtual cart, then close the tab
Not only is this tip good for deciding if you really want something, but it also is a great way to get coupons! Many online sites have an “abandon cart” trigger that will automatically send you an email with a small coupon to get you to complete your check out process. It doesn’t always work, but it is always worth a try! If the coupon never comes and you forget about the items sitting in your cart, well congrats…you just saved money on something you clearly didn’t need!
Tip 3 – Plan for sales
I know that Lilly Pulitzer has 2 huge sales a year and I only buy during those sales. Get to know the sale cycle of your favorite stores and shop exclusively during those sales. Some sales I know of off the top of my head are Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Sale, and Victoria Secret and Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sales. Get to know your favorite brands and when they have their major sales.
Tip 4 – Sign up for emails
Most stores offer you a small discount when you sign up for emails. I always sign up for the email list, get my coupon, and then unsubscribe so my inbox isn’t stuffed with random emails.
Tip 5 – Join a cash back program
I have a browser extension through Rakuten that gives me cash back at websites and automatically lets me know if there are any coupons I can use. It is such a simple thing to install and I have saved a ton by using it. You can sign up here rakuten.com/r/MAGGER75
Let me know if you have any great online shopping tips that I missed here!
